With the FIDO Alliance’s authentication standards now reaching extensively through the mobile ecosystem, it’s no surprise to find them a hot topic at this year’s Mobile World Congress. And who better to elaborate on that trend than a senior executive with FIDO’s founder, Nok Nok Labs? At MWC 2018, FindBiometrics President Peter O’Neill had the opportunity to catch up with Nok Nok Labs VP Jackie Comp, just a few months after their last rendezvous at last autumn’s Money20/20.
At MWC 2018, Comp delved into the advantages of FIDO standards for companies looking to upgrade from password-based legacy authentication systems, that standards’ growing ubiquity, and NNL’s key role in the FIDO ecosystem. She also discussed her firm’s “phenomenal year” in 2017, which saw major partnerships with high-profile companies like NTT DOCOMO, and PayPal, among others; and she offered some hints on what NNL has in store for the year ahead, including expanded capabilities for more use cases – “stay tuned on that”, she said.
