“Utilizing Megazone’s Mine Pass, we will be able to customize development and deployment to meet the needs of enterprise customers in addition to SaaS services in the future, and will provide customers with a market-proven solution that has been officially accredited by FIDO.” – Max Lee, CEO, Megazone
Korea-based cloud services provider Megazone has acquired FIDO UAF certification for its Mine Pass solution.
The solution is aimed at allowing end users to access IT services without the use of passwords. Mine Pass hasn’t yet been officially launched, but Megazone says it is designed to decouple biometric information, and that it offers end users multiple means of authentication.
Megazone itself, meanwhile, claims to be South Korea’s biggest Amazon Web Services partner, making it one an important partner for the FIDO Alliance. The cross-industry consortium launched its FIDO Korea Working Group in December in a bid to promote its strong authentication standards in the country, and has seen some considerable success in adoption of its standards among banks and credit card companies, among others.
In a statement announcing the FIDO certification, Megazone CSO Max Lee said, “Utilizing Megazone’s Mine Pass, we will be able to customize development and deployment to meet the needs of enterprise customers in addition to SaaS services in the future, and will provide customers with a market-proven solution that has been officially accredited by FIDO.”
The FIDO Interoperability Test in which Megazone’s solution was evaluated was conducted on May 2nd and 3rd, and FIDO officially issued Mine Pass’s certification on June 28th.
