Marion College Adopts BIO-key’s PortalGuard Solution

Marion Technical College is the latest academic institution to adopt BIO-key’s PortalGuard solution. Like other schools, Marion will be taking advantage of PortalGuard’s two-factor authentication and Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities to streamline the login procedures for people using its systems.

With PortalGuard, students and faculty will no longer need to use a different username and password to log into each individual application. They will instead be able to use a single credential to gain access to multiple applications, including Office 365, Canvas LMS, and PowerCampus.

Marion is located in Marion, Ohio. The new PortalGuard system is expected to reduce friction and make academic and administrative functions more efficient.

“With students increasingly learning in digital formats, the ability to securely connect to educational systems is an important element within a safe and supportive learning environment,” said BIO-key PortalGuard President Mark Cochran. “Many institutions are pursuing this type of cybersecurity, and we are here to help other institutions to follow suit.”

In that regard, Marion joins a rapidly expanding list of PortalGuard customers. San Juan College, Eastern Florida State College, and Arcadia University are some of the other academic institutions that have opted to use PortalGuard for Identity and Access Management in the past few months.
