“By combining their technologies, LoginID and Ipsidy aim to offer clients a seamless and highly secure onboarding and login process for their end users.”
LoginID has integrated Ipsidy‘s biometric identity verification technology into its “FIDO as a Service” platform, the companies have announced.
LoginID’s platform is aimed at offering the company’s partners a means of authenticating customers based on the latest protocols laid out by the FIDO Alliance, the leading authentication standards body. Ipsidy’s, meanwhile, offers a biometric onboarding solution called Proof that uses facial recognition to match an end user’s selfie to an official identity document.
By combining their technologies, LoginID and Ipsidy aim to offer clients a seamless and highly secure onboarding and login process for their end users.
“By offering Ipsidy’s trusted identity verification services, we add a low-lift integration option for developers to seamlessly incorporate identity verification, during the end-user registration process before our FIDO2 or UAF biometric authentication is added to a user’s profile,” explained LoginID CEO Simon Law in a statement announcing the integration.
“Binding a biometric identity under control of the enterprise with FIDO2 strong authentication creates a high assurance solution, delivered easily to any customer platform, with the highest level of accuracy and trust,” added Ipsidy Deputy Chairman Phillip Kumnick.
The integration is a timely one, with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic having led to a massive uptick in remote services across a number of sectors. This, in turn, has led to increasing demand for strong online authentication solutions, with Ipsidy itself having reported in a Q2 update that the pandemic has generated “accelerating demand for verifying identity seamlessly during remote onboarding as well securing ‘touchless’ interaction.”
