Remote onboarding specialist FacePhi has announced that it is among the five finalists for the 2020 National SME of the Year Award, organized by Banco Santander and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.
This news comes as FacePhi continues to build on the excellent momentum it generated in 2020. At the start of February, FacePhi provided a corporate update that showed that, despite the challenges the company faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, it managed to maintain a strong growth trend in 2020.
Just earlier this week, the company revealed it would be providing its biometric onboarding services for Latin America’s (LATAM) largest microfinance bank, Mibanco.
In addition to the continued strengthening of its presence in the LATAM financial services sector, the Spain-based biometric authentication specialist has also recently made inroads to increase its customer base in the Asia-Pacific market (APAC), highlighted by a recent deal with Korea’s Daegu Bank that will see its selfie-based authentication technology used to onboard Daegu’s customers remotely.
The jury that will decide the winner of the National SME of the Year Award is chaired by a number of high-profile directors and CEOs, including the president of the Spanish Chamber, José Luis Bonet, and the CEO of Santander Spain, Rami Aboukhair.
FacePhi — which joins fellow companies Onyx Solar Energy, Homeria Open Solutions, ViveBiotech, and Bodegas Emilio Moro as the finalists for the award — will find out if it is the winner during a live event held on February 26th.
