Livindi is adding a slew of new products and features to its Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) portfolio. The company’s platform is geared toward older patients, and gives them a way to track their health and coordinate with doctors from the comfort of their home.
To that end, Livindi’s RPM solution can be used to set up virtual appointments, and to collect and consolidate a patient’s biometric data. Patients who use the system are more likely to adhere to their treatment program, since the platform allows them to check on their daily status and reminds them to take regular health measurements and prescribed medications.
For its part, Livindi has released a slew of new health monitoring devices that are compatible with its platform. The full product line includes a watch and a bed sensor for ongoing patient monitoring, as well as devices like a scale, a blood pressure cuff, a pulse oximeter, and a glucometer. Together, the devices provide doctors with real-time insights into the patient’s health, and allow for a more timely response in the case of an emergency.
Livindi’s Telemedicine for Doctors solution, on the other hand, makes it easier for caregivers to manage their schedules and the progress of their patients. The platform lets doctors check on medication programs and view vital signs, and sit down for virtual appointments. The service can work both ways, so patients can also use Livindi’s tech to capture vital signs, make appointments, and check in with their treatment provider.
Loved ones can similarly use the platform to initiate video calls with elderly friends and family members. On that front, Livindi has raised the volume level to help older adults, and provides real-time closed captions for the hard of hearing.
According to Livindi, elderly patients who use RPM services are less likely to be readmitted to the hospital. That translates to a better quality of life for the patient, and reduces the financial and administrative strain on the hospital itself.
The expanded Livindi platform should help meet the growing demand for RPM services in the wake of COVID-19. Livindi is one of several RPM providers that have bolstered their portfolios in the past few years, with companies like BioIntelliSense and Vivalink also taking steps to improve the quality of patient care at home.
