Vivalink is targeting new clients in the healthcare sector with an expanded version of its Biometrics Data Platform. The company’s robust system has primarily been used for remote patient monitoring, and to capture data in clinical trials.
Now Vivalink is pushing the platform for third party developers that are trying to build their own algorithms for the healthcare sector. Vivalink’s solution provides those developers with a steady stream of high-quality data, all of which can be fed into an algorithm to improve its chances of identifying a serious medical condition.
As an example, Vivalink detailed the activities of RespirAi Medical, LifeBell AI, and OK2StandUp, all of which are using Vivalink to refine their own solutions. RespirAi has created an algorithm that serves as an early warning system for COPD exacerbation, while LifeBell predicts instances of sepsis and OK2StandUp analyzes the nervous system to help people avoid falls.
According to Vivalink, its technology is appealing because its open platform is fully integrated with a wide range of biometric sensors, and because it can reliably deliver the data captured with those wearables. In that regard, the solution has a stable caching and synchronization engine that makes sure that developers are able to access all of their data through the cloud, even in areas with a poor network connection.
“Our goal from the beginning was to provide a rapid development and deployment platform for novel healthcare applications and research,” said Vivalink CEO Jiang Li. “We are thrilled to provide a reliable, scalable, and highly efficient tool for companies developing AI algorithms and digital endpoints. Such tools will advance the development of the virtual healthcare community.”
Vivalink currently provides data services for more than 100 digital healthcare application companies in 32 countries all over the world. The company’s last update was released in October, when it enhanced the Biometric Data Platform to support decentralized clinical trials in a post-COVID environment.
