LILIN Licences CyberLink’s Biometric Facial Recognition Engine

CyberLink has added another client to its FaceMe portfolio. The company has agreed to license the facial recognition engine to LILIN, a surveillance specialist that plans to integrate FaceMe into its own NAV Facial Recognition Recorder.

The result will be a comprehensive surveillance solution that can be leveraged for access control and consumer analytics. For those who opt-in, facial recognition can be used for contactless authentication to secure restricted areas like offices or residential buildings. The technology will eliminate the need for contact-based solutions like PIN keypads, which will make security more hygienic as people return to work amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, retail outlets and other public venues can use the system to gather anonymous audience data and gain a better sense of their customers’ overall level of engagement. The NAV system will boast emotion analytic capabilities.

CyberLink recently updated the FaceMe engine to improve its performance with people who are wearing masks. In May, the company formed a partnership with ASA Computers, which also plans to deploy FaceMe in commercial surveillance applications.
