Fingerprint Cards (FPC) has announced that the fingerprint biometrics functionality on the new LG X Mach smartphone is enabled by the FPC1035 touch sensor. Running on Precise Biometrics’ Precise BioMatch Mobile software, the integration counts as yet another unit in a growing range of biometric smartphones featuring FPC and Precise tech working in tandem.
Just last week, FPC announced a significant number of smartphone integrations, with sensors launching on handsets from OnePlus, Xiaomi, Meitu, Gionee, 360, and OPPO. The latest integration on the LG X Mach continues to illustrate FPC’s success in the personal mobile device market, even as the company makes aggressive moves to capitalize on biometric smart cards—an area poised to become the next big battlefield in the competitive world of fingerprint sensors.
Like many of FPC’s recent integrations, this latest one comes courtesy of a repeat customer. The FPC1035 can also be found on the LG G5 smartphone released earlier this year, and Google’s Nexus 5X (manufactured by LG) sports a OneTouch FPC1025 sensor.
The news of FPC’s latest smartphone integration comes on the same day as the company’s launching of a new sensor, aimed specifically at the entry-level smartphone market.
