ISC West will officially be a virtual event in 2020. The live event was set to run from October 5 to 8 in Las Vegas, but will now be hosted online from October 5 to 7.
Of course, ISC West was originally scheduled for the end of March, but it was one of the many industry events that were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The security conference was pushed back to July, and then pushed back again to October in the hopes that the public health crisis would pass before the fall.
Unfortunately, it has now become clear that that will not be the case. The organizers are not be able to guarantee the safety of their attendees in the current environment, so they have opted to cancel the in-person conference and turn their attention to the virtual show. ISC West is hosted by Reed Exhibitions in collaboration with the Security Industry Association (SIA), which serves as the premier sponsor for the event.
“While we are very disappointed to not be able to meet face-to-face this year in Las Vegas, we look forward to continuing to help the ISC West community engage via digital programs, resources and connections,” said Reed Exhibitions Group VP Will Wise.
“We know the importance of ISC West to our community and know that we have a responsibility to our industry to adapt during this period,’ said SIA Chairman Pierre Trapanese.
“We will continue to provide our members with timely information and resources on an on-going basis.”
The organizers will share more details about the virtual conference in the weeks and months ahead. They will also evaluate the viability of ISC East, which is slated for November 18 to 19 in New York City, and make a final decision within the next eight to 10 weeks. ISC West 2021 has now been scheduled for March 23 to 26 in Las Vegas.
