Iris ID’s New Biometric Time Clock Supports Range of Third Party Software

Iris ID has launched a new biometric time and attendance tracking solution designed to support a range of third party software systems.

Dubbed “IrisTime”, the solution was launched at this year’s Human Resources Technology Conference & Expo, which ran in Las Vegas at the start of October. IrisTime runs on an Android OS, and supports both iris recognition and facial recognition, allowing end users to clock in and out for work with a contactless scan.

In keeping with Iris ID’s previous biometric offerings, IrisTime can operate from a considerable distance, scanning end users from a distance of up to 24 inches. And the scan takes only a second to complete, Iris ID says.

Biometric capabilities aside, the solution is also notable for its open platform software, which Iris ID says can support hundreds of different time and attendance apps, with the flexibility to accommodate more as they are developed in the future. That should help to pave the way for easy deployments, since the system can function with time and attendance software already being used by a range of employers.

The solution’s announcement arrives shortly after Iris ID’s publication last month of a new White Paper detailing how biometric technology can make a positive impact in the healthcare sector, further illuminating the range of potential application areas for Iris ID’s solutions.
