Labor Management Solutions Provider Reaps the Benefits of Iris ID’s Biometric Tech

Michigan-based labor management solutions provider Tracy Inc. has embraced Iris ID‘s biometric recognition technology, and is already celebrating its benefits.

The company specializes in time and attendance solutions for businesses and universities, and counts among its clients Michigan State University, the University of Notre Dame, and Oakland University, as well as Valeo, Bradford White, and Wolverine Worldwide, among others. The company has previously offered its clients other kinds of biometric devices, but is now finding that Iris ID’s technology is offering the best performance, according to Tracy Sales Manager Scott Mowery.

“We haven’t had any failed authentications using the Iris ID biometric platform,” he attested. “The technology’s accuracy, speed and ability to eliminate the need for employees carrying plastic credentials is a real plus.”

The particular solution in question is the iT100, a tablet-like video panel that combines iris and facial recognition capabilities. It’s capable of authenticating an employee standing up to two feet away, and doing so in under one second. What’s more, the solution has a capacity of up to 10,000 employee profiles.

“The iT100 eliminates costs associated with administering and managing punch, barcode, magnetic swipe or proximity cards and PINs,” said Kurt Wherley, Iris ID’s Director of Sales for Workforce Management, adding that the solution “is the time clock for the modern workforce.”

The iT100 operates on an Android system that is designed to be compatible with hundreds of third party time and attendance applications. It’s also designed to be customizable, so that independent software solutions can be tailored to work with the biometric solution depending on a given organization’s needs.

The partnership’s announcement comes soon after Iris ID highlighted the law enforcement applications of its biometric technology at the Connect:ID conference in October, where FindBiometrics’ Doug OGorden has the opportunity to talk with Iris ID Director Tim Meyerhoff on the show floor.
