It’s Mobile World Congress 2018 this week, and FindBiometrics is bringing you coverage straight from the international conference in Barcelona. Reporting live from the exhibition floor, FindBiometrics President Peter O’Neill caught up with Mohammed Murad, Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Iris ID.
Murad highlighted Iris ID’s handheld iris recognition technology currently being showcased at MWC. He remarked on how the popularity of biometrics, with people carrying around biometrically secure devices in their pockets, has lent itself favorably to the applications of iris recognition technology. Compared to voice or fingerprint authentication, “iris provides a stronger identity verification,” he said.
“We are seeing quite a bit of adoption of iris recognition across the globe,” said Murad, adding in the past year Iris ID has seen the deployment of very large systems in Asia, specifically in China.
It’s n exciting time for iris technology Murad asserts, “Mobile is here to stay,” and Iris ID is looking forward to far greater applications for iris recognition in the identity space – not just in personal identification – but in the identity space and across multiple large scale identification applications.
