Iris ID Bringing New Biometric Terminals to ISC West

Iris ID will soon be showcasing its latest biometric readers for audiences in the United States. The company first unveiled its new iCAM D2000 and IrisBar readers at the Intersec Dubai trade show in the United Arab Emirates in January, and is now bringing the devices to Las Vegas for the ISC West conference later in the month. The iCAM D2000 and the IrisBar will be on display at booth 14120 at the Sands Convention Center from March 23-25.

Both devices offer support for face and iris biometrics, and are designed primarily for border crossings and the air travel industry. On that front, the iCAM D2000 can be integrated with an airport’s existing infrastructure, and is compatible with a wide range of legacy authentication systems. For example, it can be deployed at a desk to enable quick identity verification, or installed in a speed gate to add an additional layer of biometric security.

The IrisBar, meanwhile, is specifically designed for use with kiosks. The infrared LCD screen helps illuminate the face of a user during capture, and can be customized to help people navigate the entire process. The device can guide people with visual prompts displayed on the screen, or with audio prompts issued through an internal speaker.

The iCAM 2000 comes with a pair of illuminator bars to enable facial recognition in poorly lit areas. Both devices are compact and fully touchless, and will automatically adjust to accommodate the height of the end user.
