“It’s a win for Integration Biometrics too, whose FBI-certified fingerprint scanners, such as the Watson Mini and the more recent Kojak, are going to be deployed via MOSA.”
Integrated Biometrics is celebrating its strategic partner MOSA’s recent win in securing FBI contracts.
MOSA, a Florida-based integrator, was recently selected by the FBI for $750,000-worth of contracts pertaining to the latter’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system. The deals require MOSA to provide biometric scanning technologies for use with NGI, which is widely used by government authorities for criminal investigations as well as background checks for certain kinds of employment positions.
It’s a win for Integration Biometrics too, whose FBI-certified fingerprint scanners, such as the Watson Mini and the more recent Kojak, are going to be deployed via MOSA. In a statement, Integrated Biometrics congratulated MOSA on its success, with CEO Steve Thies asserting that his team is “thrilled that MOSA Technology Solutions has secured this business with the FBI, and that our products are going to help support the next generation of the largest criminal fingerprint database in the world.”
The FBI’s expansion of the NGI program comes alongside efforts to exempt it from national privacy legislation, suggesting a strong interest on the part of the FBI in ramping up its biometric identification capabilities.
