Innovatrics has achieved iBeta Presentation Attack Detection Level 1 compliance with its passive liveness detection solution. During the test, Innovatrics’ technology fended off all 1,800 spoofing attempts while successfully clearing every genuine authentication request. The results of the test were announced earlier this month.
The passive liveness check is part of Innovatrics’ mobile onboarding solution, which uses face and document recognition to verify the identity of a user. The photos captured during the authentication process are stored and processed entirely on the user’s device to ensure their privacy, while the check itself is accomplished using only a single frame. The solution is compliant with the latest GDPR regulations and the ISO 30107-3 standard.
Innovatrics first introduced its liveness detection technology in April of 2020. The company has prioritized facial recognition during the pandemic, and recently released a new mask detection feature that can determine whether or not someone is following proper public safety protocol. It has also insisted that its solution is 95 percent accurate when asked to identify people who are wearing masks.
The Innovatrics system is one of several facial recognition solutions to attain iBeta compliance in the past few months. Acuant, ID R&D, and Aware have all cleared the requirements of Level 2, while FacePhi attained Level 1 compliance back in June.
