ID R&D’s Liveness Detection Solution Announces iBeta Level 1 Conformance

ID R&D‘s IDLive Face v1.9 facial recognition solution has now become one of the few biometric systems to attain conformance to Level 1 of iBeta’s Presentation Attack Detection testing program. The achievement means that IDLive Face is now officially compliant with the ISO 30107-3 international standard.

First launched in 2019, IDLive Face is particularly notable for its passive liveness detection capability, with the solution designed to verify that an end user is indeed present during authentication without any special actions required from that user. Liveness detection is widely seen as an increasingly important component of sophisticated biometric authentication, due to advancements in ‘spoofing’ attacks in which valid biometrics are mimicked.

Perhaps more remarkably, ID R&D says its solution can perform its liveness check based on a single picture, and can operate without the need for specialized hardware or software on the part of the device capturing the user’s image.

iBeta, meanwhile, is the only biometrics testing lab accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) run by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Only a small handful of solutions conform to its Presentation Attack Detection program, which requires perfect scores for each of its three levels.

We are excited to share iBeta’s results which underscore the effectiveness of our solution.”

ID R&D announced its iBeta success at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, which began on January 7th and is scheduled to conclude on January 10th.
