Innovatrics Achieves MOSIP Compliance for Foundational National ID Programs

Innovatrics has achieved MOSIP compliance for its Automated Biometric Identification System, qualifying the company’s biometric matching technology for use inside national identity programs built on the open-source platform. The compliance lets Innovatrics ABIS serve as the biometric matching layer within MOSIP-based systems, slotting into an interoperable identity stack rather than requiring a country to commit to a single vendor’s full platform.

MOSIP is the foundation that makes that modularity possible. The Modular Open Source Identity Platform, developed to give governments a flexible base for national identity systems, lets countries assemble an ID program from interoperable components and change technology providers as the program evolves. Compliance testing is how MOSIP verifies that a given vendor’s component will work within that architecture, so a country can adopt it without locking itself into one supplier.

For Innovatrics, the certification positions its ABIS as the deduplication and matching engine behind a foundational ID program. The system handles the large-scale biometric matching that national ID issuance depends on, checking that each enrollee is unique across a population-scale database, and it is offered for both cloud and on-premises deployment to fit different governments’ infrastructure and data-residency requirements. The company points to matching accuracy and performance at scale as the qualities that matter for that role.

The milestone places Innovatrics among a growing set of biometric vendors certified to work within MOSIP deployments. Others have taken the same path, with Neurotechnology achieving MOSIP system integrator status across its ABIS, SDK, and adjudication engine and Rank One Computing earning MOSIP certification, reflecting how the platform has become a common procurement target for biometric matching in national ID programs across the Global South.

With MOSIP compliance achieved, Innovatrics can offer its ABIS as the biometric matching component for governments building foundational identity systems on the platform.
