IMID Access Control Tech Secures HQ of Iconic Canadian Transport Firm

An iconic Canadian company has deployed FST Biometrics‘ In Motion Identification (IMID) system at its headquarters in Montreal.

CN (or, the ‘Canadian National Railway Company’) has implemented FST’s biometric access control system at all of the access points to its head corporate office, as well as its daycare center. The deployment means that registered individuals can be authenticated to access the facilities without any extra effort from them, since the system uses a combination of gait analysis and facial recognition to identify them as they pass through access points.

The technology was integrated with Automatic Systems’ SmartLane turnstiles, and in collaboration with Canadian partner Infynia Security. In a statement announcing the integration, FST Biometrics CMO Arie Melamed said the company’s leadership is “pleased that a global transportation leader has implemented our system at the headquarters of its operations,” adding, “We look forward to developing this relationship further in the future.”

News of the deployment comes after FST Biometrics attained Lenel certification for its IMID solution this past summer, which in turn arrived after its IMID Access 4.0 platform won the Best User Authentication, Identification, Credentialling and Management Product award at in the 2017 SIA New Product Showcase at this spring’s ISC West event.
