ImageWare Webinar Educates Enterprises About COVID-19 Cyberthreats

ImageWare and Richard Stiennon have released an on-demand webinar to warn enterprises about the various cyberthreats that have emerged in the wake of COVID-19. Stiennon is the Chief Research Analyst for IT-Harvest, while the webinar itself will educate viewers about the steps they can take to combat threats and cultivate a more secure remote work environment.

In the webinar, ImageWare stresses the need for strong biometric authentication, and highlights the utility of its GoVerifyID platform. The solution is compatible with Microsoft Active Directory, and allows remote employees to verify their identities and access secure materials using the biometric scanners on their own mobile devices.

ImageWare notes that remote work has skyrocketed since the beginning of the pandemic, and that many employees are likely to remain remote even after businesses start to reopen. That means that remote security will be important both now and in the future.  

“I have never seen such a universal adjustment to change like the overnight requirement to work from home,” said Stiennon. “Email, Wi-Fi, and cloud were rapid deployments, but did not require every organization to support the change within 24 hours. Now that the mechanics of getting people online have been overcome, we need to ensure that access is secured.”

According to ImageWare, FBI cybercrime reports during the pandemic are nearly 400 percent higher than they were for the same period in 2019. In that regard, ImageWare is one of several companies that has observed a dramatic spike in cybercrime since large numbers of people started working from home.

ImageWare has managed to develop its own business and product portfolio despite the ongoing disruption. The company recently hired a new CFO, and received a patent for a conditional authentication system that can register and verify multimodal biometric information in different situations with different devices.
