This year’s ID4Africa event has officially been postponed. The 2020 event will now run from October 28-30, though it will still take place at the Palais des Congrès at Mövenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi in Marrakesh, Morocco.
The decision reflects the ongoing concerns about the coronavirus. The organizers and the host country both agreed that the current environment would make it difficult to host the event on its original date, especially since the latest travel restrictions would prevent many key individuals from attending. By pushing back until late October, the organizers are hoping that they will be able to deliver a better conference with programming and attendance figures that are more in line with previous years.
The organizers indicated that the overall theme of the show would remain the same, but they would update the programming to ensure that the content is as timely as possible.
Of course, ID4Africa is not the only event that has been forced to change its plans due to global health concerns. ISC West has also been postponed, with the event now scheduled to take place in Las Vegas this summer. However, both MWC 2020 and the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition were cancelled because of the virus.
