Tayabas Connects City Services to Philippines National ID Authentication
The City Government of Tayabas has connected its municipal digital-service platform to the Philippines’ National ID Authentication System, becoming the first local government unit in the CALABARZON region to complete the integration. Following review against privacy, security, and technical requirements, the Philippine Statistics Authority authorized the Tayabazen Digital Platform to operate as a National ID Authentication Relying Party. The connection enables real-time demographic, QR code, or biometric verification when residents register for and access city services. Local officials expect the system to speed up municipal transactions, reduce duplicate records, and decrease the number of supporting documents required from residents to streamline municipal public service delivery and identity verification.
Indonesia Reports 9 3 Million Biometric SIM Registrations
Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs reported 9.3 million biometric SIM card registrations from January through July 2026 as the country shifts new mobile subscriptions to facial verification.
