Welcome to ID Tech’s digest of identity industry news. Here’s what you need to know about the world of digital identity and biometrics today:
Anonybit Secures Patent for Decentralized Biometric Authentication Technology
Anonybit has received a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its decentralized biometric authentication technology. The system eliminates centralized biometric data storage by fragmenting and distributing biometric information across a multi-party cloud environment. It employs Multi-Party Computation (MPC) and Zero Knowledge Proofs (ZKP) to enhance security and prevent unauthorized access. The platform supports face, voice, iris, and palm recognition, integrating with third-party algorithms while maintaining NIST standards for biometric matching. The patented technology aligns with data privacy regulations through data minimization, privacy by design, and user consent mechanisms. Currently deployed by banks and fintech firms, the platform supports fraud prevention, passwordless login, secure account recovery, and identity token protection.

Brazil’s Beira-Rio Stadium Implements Facial Recognition Access Control System
Sport Club Internacional’s Beira-Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre, Brazil, is implementing Imply Facial Recognition technology across all access points to enhance security and streamline fan entry. The system, set for full activation by July, eliminates physical tickets and cards by linking each ticket to an individual, preventing unauthorized resales and reducing environmental waste. The upgrade includes remote registration, rapid entry processing, and integration with Imply’s broader technology suite, which supports ticket sales, membership management, and loyalty programs. Imply ElevenTickets holds a 31 percent market share in Brazil’s Série A Championship and continues expanding biometric access control across Latin American sports venues.
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Now Accepts Ohio Mobile IDs
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) now accepts Ohio mobile driver’s licenses and state IDs stored in Apple Wallet for TSA verification, expanding digital identity use at U.S. airports. Travelers can present their Ohio Mobile ID by holding an iPhone or Apple Watch near TSA’s CAT-2 readers, with Face ID or Touch ID authentication ensuring encrypted data sharing. TSA guidelines still require physical IDs as a backup. The system is currently limited to iOS devices, with Android support not yet available.
