Huawei keeps bringing business to Fingerprint Cards, with the latter having just announced another smartphone integration of its fingerprint sensor technology. Huawei’s new Honor 8 device features an FPC1035 sensor.
It is far from the first Huawei device to feature FPC technology. Just a few months ago, it was announced that Huawei’s P9 and P9+ devices each featured an FPC1025 sensor. And this latest smartphone isn’t even the first Honor device to include an FPC sensor, with last year’s Honor 7 and Honor 7i also featuring FPC technology.
It’s one of the stronger client relationships that FPC has fostered over the last several months, and helps to illustrate the company’s success in attaining its leading position as a fingerprint sensor supplier to the smartphone OEM market. Even as FPC delves into new areas of interest for its biometric technology, including smart cards and the automotive sector, mobile integrations appear to remain the backbone of its business. Of course, this situation is evolving, and a forthcoming Q2 update should help to illustrate how.
