“Seeking to seize the opportunity, HID Global has announced that it will demo its solutions at Expo Seguridad Mexico, a major security exhibition slated to run from April 24th to 26th in Mexico City.”
HID Global is looking to put its biometric solutions front of mind for financial institutions in Mexico as they prepare for the implementation of new regulations requiring banks to use fingerprint recognition for customer authentication.
The regulations were announced by Mexico’s National Banking and Security Commission last summer, and require that banks scan all of an individual’s fingerprints for account openings and credit card and loan applications, so that customers can be matched against National Electoral Institute databases. The deadline for compliance is this October, presenting an opportunity for biometrics specialists to offers easy to implement solutions to the financial organizations impacted by the regulation.
Seeking to seize the opportunity, HID Global has announced that it will demo its solutions at Expo Seguridad Mexico, a major security exhibition slated to run from April 24th to 26th in Mexico City. In its announcement, the company emphasized the wide use of its Lumidigm fingerprint sensors in the Latin America region, noting that over 115,000 sensors have been deployed at ATMs in Brazil, and that its technology is also used to secure pension payments in Chile and Argentina, to eliminate fraud in Mexican healthcare programs, and to verify the identities of “more than 70,000 members of a large fitness club franchise” in that country.
At Expo Seguridad Mexico, HID Global will showcase its solutions from stand #3131 of Mexico City’s Centro CitiBanamex.
