Health Club Uses IMID Solution for Passive Member Identification

The HydroLife Center health club in Israel has adopted FST Biometrics‘ In Motion Identification (IMID) technology for member identification.

It’s a matter of efficiency and convenience. Commenting in a statement, the HydroLife Center’s CEO, Vered Libstein, explained that with “so many people entering the facility daily, including many non-members who support members with disabilities, or parents dropping off and picking up children, we knew we needed a strong, yet convenient solution for managing member identification.” To that end, the IMID system has been installed at HydroLife’s entrance turnstiles, automatically identifying each member as they come through.

IMID uses a combination of facial and behavioral recognition to identify registered individuals without any need for particular action on the part of its subjects; as such it’s a passive, and therefore very convenient, access control system. FST Biometrics says that registration of new members takes less than a minute, while the identification itself happens in under two seconds.

News of the deployment comes soon after FST announced upgrades to the IMID platform in March, and after the company won industry awards from the SIA and Security Today last month in recognition of its IMID solution.
