CyberLink has picked up a new client in the financial sector. The company has now delivered its FaceMe facial recognition solution for Good Finance, which has in turn integrated the FaceMe engine into its own mobile application.
The arrangement will speed up the onboarding process for people signing up for new Good Finance accounts remotely. Prospective customers are first asked to submit images of their photo ID. They are then asked to follow some basic prompts to capture their facial biometrics. CyberLink’s FaceMe system ensures that a real person is present for the interaction, and that that person is in fact the person depicted on the identity document.
In that regard, CyberLink’s platform comes with built-in liveness detection and anti-spoofing tech to make sure that fraudsters cannot get past the system with masks or photos. The system can run on camera-equipped consumer devices like smartphones and tablets, and will allow Good Finance customers to open accounts without needing to make a trip to a physical branch location. It also does so while remaining compliant with Know Your Customer regulations.
“CyberLink meets all needs and requirements of the financial industry in Taiwan,” said Good Finance Product Manager Daniel Chen. “We chose to partner with CyberLink to offer our customers an enhanced online experience, while improving internal operating efficiency.”
“Accurate and secure identity validation of online customers is a top priority across the banking, insurance and security industries,” added CyberLink Chairman and CEO Jau Huang. “FaceMe’s accuracy and overall performance uniquely meet eKYC’s demanding requirements and play a key role in taking fintech to a new level of excellence.”
According to Good Finance, nearly 300 customers have already taken advantage of the new partnership to open an account online. CyberLink, meanwhile, recently released a slew of new APIs to make it easier for clients to integrate its facial recognition tech into their own platforms. The company has also launched dedicated solutions for retail and attendance applications.
