Suprema will be looking to increase its access control business after entering into a new partnership with Genetec. The company has revealed that its access control readers have now been integrated with the Genetec Security Center, which means that organizations that use the Security Center can use Suprema readers to verify the identities of their employees.
The Genetec Security Center is an access management system that allows an organization to track all of their sensors and user data from a single centralized location. That system (and in particular the Genetec Synergis access control component) is compatible with Suprema’s access control portfolio, so clients can use Suprema hardware to perform scans at all points of entry.
That Suprema portfolio offers support for biometric face and fingerprint recognition in addition to PINs and RFID readers. Those who are interested in the biometric features can register face and fingerprint templates using Suprema’s BioStar 2 software, or with software that comes with the Security Center. User data is stored on a central server, so employees only need to register once and the organization can use that information to set their access privileges for the entire facility. The Genetec system itself offers support for up to 1,000 individual devices.
“Through this partnership, customers of both companies can more easily build and operate biometric-based security management systems,” said Suprema CEO Hanchul Kim. “We will strengthen our partnership to elevate our status as a global security leader.”
“The integration of Security Center Synergis with Suprema’s biometric access control solutions simplifies the architecture thereby enhancing the end user experience,” added Genetec Access Control Manager Francois Brouillet. “This brings increased value to our joint customers and partners and further strengthens our long-standing relationship with Suprema.”
Genetec has previously formed access control partnerships with EyeLock and Invixium. Suprema, meanwhile, was recently listed as the world’s top provider of biometric access control readers outside of China.
