Sentry Enterprises is poised to expand its customer base after entering a reseller arrangement with Genetec Inc. The arrangement will make Sentry Enterprises’ SentryCard one of the many security solutions that Genetec offers to its extensive network of clients and system integrators.
The SentryCard is similar to a biometric payment card, though it is geared toward access control rather than payments. Cardholders can present the card at an access control terminal to unlock doors, log into an account, or to gain access to a particular workstation. The card acts as a physical security token, and it also comes with a built-in fingerprint sensor to enable multi-factor authentication. In that regard, the fingerprint match ensures that the card is in the hands of the true owner, and prevents someone else from using a card that has been lost or stolen.
The SentryCard can help meet the growing demand for contactless security solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Genetec will officially make the SentryCard available to its international clients on November 30, at which point interested businesses can go through one of Genetec’s many resellers, integrators, or channel partners to obtain the solution.
“The SentryCard has the potential to be a game-changing platform, empowering our enterprise clients with the proof-of-identity they desire, while mitigating the common privacy and hygiene risks associated with other fingerprint biometric solutions,” said Genetec Product Line Manager Francois Brouillet.
“As Sentry Enterprises continues to expand its presence in the global security and identity markets, we could not ask for a better resale partnership than with Genetec,” added Sentry Enterprises President John Calzaretta.
The physical SentryCard is built with fingerprint hardware and software from FPC. Sentry Enterprises first partnered with FPC in 2020, and it has since placed a follow-up order for hundreds of thousands of T-Shape fingerprint sensor modules. Genetec, meanwhile, recently integrated Suprema’s access control readers into the rest of its Security Center platform.
