Paul King has officially become the newest member of the iProov Advisory Board. As a member of the Board, King will be asked to provide particular expertise on the subject of threat management, which he acquired over the course of a 27-year career in the security industry.
The most recent stop in that career was a stint as the Chief Security Officer for Cisco UK. He has also served in an advisory capacity for cybersecurity industry organizations like the National Cyber Security Centre and the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure. Other highlights include roles with the INTERPOL Specialists Group on Crimes Against Children, and with the Advisory Group on Internet Security for Europol’s European Cybercrime Centre.
King will now be working with iProov to provide enterprise customers and individual users with better threat detection and risk assessment capabilities. In doing so, he will help research and identify risks from criminal networks in addition to nation states.
“My professional passion is in the detection of emerging cyber threats,” said King. “The protection of identity verification on the internet is of the utmost importance to society and iProov is at the forefront of using AI to combat cyberattacks in this critical area.”
“We’re honored that Paul has joined the iProov mission to bring trust to the internet,” added iProov CEO Andrew Bud. “The challenge of delivering secure biometric authentication requires more than technology – it also demands world-class threat management strategy and infrastructure. Paul’s experience will help us to build on our progress in this area.”
In September, iProov established a new Security Operations Centre to monitor deepfakes and other international cyberthreats. The company has since provided passive liveness technology for multiple private companies and government agencies, including TRUSTDOCK and the Australian Taxation Office. Jumio, meanwhile, has integrated iProov’s liveness tech into its own KYX onboarding solution.
