ForgeRock has officially joined the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA). The alliance will boost the interoperability of ForgeRock’s identity platform, and make it easier to integrate with other solutions that are part of the broader MISA ecosystem.
The partnership will also allow ForgeRock to offer more layers of security with its Identity Access solution. In that regard, Identity Access can now reference the Microsoft Intune device management system during the authentication process to make sure that the device is secure before completing the authentication request. The assessment is based on factors like whether or not the device has been jailbroken, and whether or not the operating system is up to date.
Identity Access can similarly reference the Azure AD Identity Protection program to evaluate the risk of individual users. The program searches for anomalous activity to identify people whose accounts may have been compromised. It can then use that information to initiate a step-up authentication process, or bar someone from gaining access to sensitive materials.
Finally, the ForgeRock Common Audit handler (CAUD) will allow customers to view event logs with Microsoft’s existing tools. The CAUD tool is based on a Common Event Format, and makes the data captured with the ForgeRock platform compatible with other dashboards and systems.
“Joining MISA aligns with ForgeRock’s purpose of helping people safely and simply access the connected world,” said ForgeRock Global Business and Corporate Development SVP Ben Goodman. “By combining Microsoft Security Intelligence with ForgeRock’s identity expertise, our shared customers will be able to deliver more secure, seamless digital experiences.”
“Through MISA, we hope to further enable collaboration between leading security technology companies, so together we can better secure and protect our joint customers,” added Microsoft Security Marketing Director Ryan McGee.
Appdome and FEITIAN are some of the other recent additions to the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association. Meanwhile, ForgeRock achieved ISO 27001 certification earlier this month.
