Fime has acquired Consult Hyperion, highlighting the latter consultancy’s expertise in payments, smart mobility, and digital identity.
Fime, for its part, is a French security consulting and testing agency that is well known in the identity technology space. Toward the end of last year, it became the first European lab to be accredited under the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)’s National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for biometric testing (“NVLAP Lab Code 600365-0”). That accreditation attested to Fime’s use of rigorous standards and protocols in testing biometric devices.
Consult Hyperion, originally incorporated as Hyperion Internet Products Limited in 1996, is based in the UK and North America. The company specializes in secure electronic transactions, and has built a reputation for helping organizations worldwide leverage new technologies, regulatory changes, and consumer expectations to design systems that support secure electronic payments, fare collection, and identity transaction services.
Consult Hyperion’s in-house team, Hyperlab, is known for rapidly prototyping new concepts and delivering security-critical software for mass deployment.
“We have worked alongside Fime for a number of years, and are delighted to join forces with an organization sharing our values, including creativity, collaboration and deep expertise,” said Consult Hyperion Founders Stuart Fiske & Neil McEvoy in a statement.
Fime CEO Lionel Grosclaude called the acquisition a “milestone” for his firm. “We are positioned to drive the future of payments, smart mobility, and digital identity.”
