“With this agreement, Garantizar has become the seventh Argentinian company to embrace FacePhi’s biometric authentication technology, with the broader Latin American region representing its core market.”
FacePhi has further reinforced its position in Latin America, and particularly Argentina, with its latest partnership. The company has been contracted to provide biometric identification technology to Garantizar.
The latter is a mobile banking subsidiary of Banco Nación, one of Argentina’s top banks, and offers credit services to small and medium enterprise firms. Going forward, the company will use FacePhi’s biometric, selfie-based authentication technology for customer access to its online services.
With this agreement, Garantizar has become the seventh Argentinian company to embrace FacePhi’s biometric authentication technology, with the broader Latin American region representing its core market.
Commenting on the deal in a statement, FacePhi CEO Javier Mira said it “allows us to consolidate in a very competitive market,” adding that the South American market is “booming”. “For us, it is a new achievement and a boost to our international expansion process,” he said.
The news comes after a strong showing for FacePhi at this year’s Money20/20 USA event, where the company announced a major expansion of its authentication platform, now called inPhinite and incorporating additional biometric capabilities including fingerprint, periocular, and voice recognition.
