Exadel Solutions has moved forward with the official release its open-source facial recognition application. CompreFace can be deployed through the cloud or installed on a standalone device for on-premises authentication.
The CompreFace API was built to be user-friendly. It does not require any machine learning expertise, and can instead be integrated into an existing security network without any outside assistance. The system itself relies on neural networks, and comes with a convenient user interface with a Face Collection feature that allows operators to create and manage different groups of people from a centralized dashboard.
“Facial recognition technology is being rapidly adopted across a variety of industries, including retail, travel, and hospitality. However, not everyone has the machine learning experience necessary to develop and deploy facial recognition efficiently and effectively,” said Exadel President Lev Shur. “Exadel designed CompreFace as a facial recognition solution that can be leveraged no matter what level of machine learning knowledge the end-user has.”
CompreFace is not the only facial recognition solution to hit the market in the past few days, nor is it the only open-source identification platform. Corsight AI also announced the commercial launch of its facial recognition system, while TECH5 has made its biometric SDKs compatible with MOSIP’s open-source digital ID offering.
