Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) has announced its acquisition of Dignari, LLC, a technology consulting firm specializing in digital identity and access management (IAM) solutions, with a strong focus on public sector and homeland security. Founded in 2013 by award-winning identity leader Gena Alexa, Dignari has established itself as a significant player in the digital identity space, leveraging innovative technologies to support U.S. government clients in securing sensitive information. With the acquisition, EY is positioning itself to strengthen its public sector capabilities, blending Dignari’s advanced IAM solutions with its own government-focused expertise.
Dignari’s team of around 300 professionals brings specialized skills in digital identity, biometric systems, and data science, enabling the development of high-impact solutions for U.S. government clients. These capabilities are particularly important in the homeland security space, where secure identity verification and access control have become increasingly critical.
Dignari’s technical portfolio includes a comprehensive range of IAM and identity credentialing solutions, which have become foundational for large federal identity management programs. In addition to biometric and identity verification systems, Dignari is known for its innovative use of data-driven strategies to improve program effectiveness and performance measurement.
Beyond government applications, EY’s acquisition of Dignari also brings benefits to various commercial sectors, as noted by Whitt Butler, EY Americas Consulting Vice Chair. Industries like financial services and airlines, which face similar security and identity management challenges, stand to benefit from Dignari’s IAM strengths. The synergy between Dignari’s capabilities and EY’s existing expertise in consulting, assurance, and technology solutions allows EY to deliver more comprehensive and secure technology solutions to a diverse client base.
In terms of technical execution, Dignari’s proficiency in cloud services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) will integrate with EY’s technology infrastructure. Dignari’s experience in DevSecOps and advanced encryption implementations is expected to improve EY’s agility in managing large-scale technology deployments and secure cloud migrations, particularly in sensitive areas such as law enforcement, homeland security, and intelligence.
