Germany-based biometric technology company DERMALOG has announced that it has been awarded a Gold German Innovation Award in recognition of its Multi-Biometric Cameras, designed to provide high-speed biometric identification.
The multi-camera approach enables DERMALOG’s solution to capture multiple biometric features at once, allowing for a contactless access control solution that has become even more in demand due to the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’re delighted to win the German Innovation Award for our Multi-Biometrics Cameras,” said DERMALOG Managing Director Günther Mull. “This product series is the result of years of research work. So this award is also honouring the outstanding work of our many developers.”
The Multi-Biometric Cameras are capable of detecting face and iris biometrics from a distance of up to two meters in one second, and can also be used to measure an individual’s body temperature using a set of integrated thermal sensors on board.
DERMALOG’s solutions have been adopted by a number of institutions around the world during the past year as efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 have continued. Among DERMALOG’s customers who have employed its various biometric solutions are a shopping mall in Scandinavia and the Philippine’s Land Transportation Office.
The Multi-Biometric Cameras are already in use in more than 60 countries throughout the world in a number of sectors including healthcare, education, border control, manufacturing, and hospitality.
