CyberLink Upgrades Biometric Security Platform With Monitor Add-on, Recording Capabilities

CyberLink continues to improve its FaceMe Security surveillance platform. The latest update introduces a new Monitor Add-on that will allow security guards to keep tabs on as many as nine camera streams at the same time.

The Monitor Add-on will consolidate those streams through a single user interface, and will send immediate notifications to security personnel should specific events occur. For example, the system will alert staff if a blacklisted individual appears onscreen, or if someone is not wearing a mask properly or has an elevated temperature inside the building.

The latest version of the FaceMe Security platform also comes with enhanced video recording capabilities. In that regard, the new network video recorder (NVR) will give administrators the ability to record and replay videos from IP cameras connected to the system.

FaceMe Security runs on CyberLink’s highly rated FaceMe facial recognition engine. The system can be deployed on individual workstations or across an entire network, and is fully compatible with many of the top video management systems, including those from Milestone, Network Optix, and Vivotek.

“Since its first release, CyberLink’s FaceMe Security solution has been deployed to several sites, such as office facilities, manufacturing plants, and hospitals,” said CyberLink CEO Jau Huang. “With the new Monitor Add-on, FaceMe Security provides a complete end-to-end solution from access control and time & attendance management to video archiving and monitoring.”

This is CyberLink’s second major FaceMe Security update in the past few months. The company previously added the mask and temperature detection features with the release of the FaceMe Security Health Add-on back in April. The FaceMe Security platform itself has been optimized for multiple NVIDIA chipsets, with CyberLink suggesting that smaller organizations should opt for the Jetson AGX Xavier or Xavier NX chipsets. Meanwhile, larger organizations with more traffic are advised to use the more robust Quadro GPUs.
