CyberLink has unveiled FaceMe Security 8.0, the latest version of its ISO 27001:2022-certified AI-powered facial recognition solution designed for security, access control, and identity verification applications. The release builds upon CyberLink’s established presence in the facial recognition market, where its technology has been successfully deployed in various industries, including automotive manufacturing and enterprise access control.
The solution functions both as standalone software and integrates with major video management systems (VMS) including Genetec Security Center, Milestone XProtect, Network Optix Nx Witness, and Hanwha Vision Wisenet WAVE. This broad compatibility extends CyberLink’s previous integration efforts, which have included successful partnerships with Network Optix and Hanwha Vision.
A key addition to version 8.0 is automatic IP camera detection, which identifies cameras on the same network segment and allows users to specify IP address ranges for scanning. The system also features auto-detection of FaceMe Security Central within the local area network, facilitating system updates and configuration processes.
The updated version implements HTTP API support for DIDO (Digital Input/Digital Output) triggering, compatible with devices using HTTP APIs for access control. This functionality works with systems such as the Axis VAPIX Application API for cameras with built-in DIDO modules, enabling automated security responses like signal tower light activation when detecting unauthorized individuals.
“Accurate facial recognition is important, but just as important are a smooth installation and positive user experience,” explained Mei Guu, President of CyberLink Business Unit 2. “Enabling our customers to easily locate the IP cameras and smoothly enhance their VMS with facial recognition ensures that they can start reaping the benefits of FaceMe Security immediately.”
Additional technical improvements include PostgreSQL database support, enhanced database performance, and new setup guides for high-availability configurations. The software now features improved database update performance, better stability for mass record deletion, and Hanwha Vision Wisenet WAVE video playback support. An API test tool has been integrated directly into the FaceMe Security Console for streamlined testing capabilities.
The system also maintains automatic synchronization with Genetec Security Center’s people database, ensuring consistency across integrated systems. This integration builds upon CyberLink’s established relationship with Genetec, whose platform has become increasingly important in the security and access control market, particularly for enterprise-level deployments.
