CyberLink’s facial recognition system, FaceMe, has been successfully integrated into Hanwha Vision’s Wisenet WAVE Video Management System (VMS), designed for managing video surveillance captured by Hanwha cameras.
The integration between FaceMe and Wisenet WAVE VMS facilitates an upgrade to existing smart security and access control systems. It empowers the users with real-time alerts, employee access control, and optimized facial search capabilities which can expedite video investigations. The FaceMe Security system processes video streams to extract facial templates, which are then searched and compared for accurate verification.
Hanwha Vision’s Wisenet WAVE VMS is known for its lightweight and scalable video management capabilities, which include monitoring, recording, and managing video surveillance data from Hanwha cameras. This system also taps into the analytics provided by Wisenet video and audio. With the FaceMe integration, users of Wisenet WAVE now have access to a facial recognition technology boasting a notable accuracy rate of 99.83 percent, as validated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and iBeta Level 2 certification for anti-spoofing test assurance and compliance.
The companies say that an unnamed “expo center and fairgrounds” located in Pennsylvania is already using their joint solution to automatically flag blacklisted individuals and to track people in certain situations, such as that of a missing child. Over 160 Hanwha Vision cameras were installed across the 87-acre property, working in tandem with CyberLink’s FaceMe Security plugin to ensure the safety and security of visitors.
According to Mark Heintzman, manager of technical partnerships in North America, the facial recognition plugin provides a potent solution for identification, searching, and forensic investigations within the WAVE VMS framework.
CyberLink recently upgraded its FaceMe API kit, enhancing its flexibility for creating personalized facial recognition solutions. The upgrade, which includes a new ‘Developer Resources’ page and support for Docker containerization technology, reflects CyberLink’s commitment to providing adaptable facial recognition technology to meet the varying requirements of different organizations.
