“Phoenix Sky International Airport has become the 25th airport in the US to support CLEAR…”
CLEAR‘s biometric passenger screening system has landed in Phoenix, Arizona.
Registered passengers at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport can now proceed through PHX Terminal 4 faster than ever, with CLEAR allowing them to confirm their identities through a simple fingerprint or eye scan. And soon, CLEAR says, the system will be in place at all PHX terminals.
For CLEAR, it’s the first airport deployment to come after a series of successes in the entertainment venue security vertical, having its technology implemented in major sports stadiums; and it may not be a coincidence that the PHX deployment comes just a few months after Howard Kass, a former American Airlines and TSA executive, became CLEAR’s SVP of Corporate Affairs. In any case, Phoenix Sky International Airport has become the 25th airport in the US to support CLEAR, representing a network that encompasses “the vast majority of domestic flights nationwide”, according to a statement from the company.
Commenting on the development, Greater Phoenix Chamber President and CEO Todd Sanders suggested that CLEAR’s sophisticated technology elevates the city’s standing. “CLEAR’s decision to expand here is further validation of our position as a city that embraces innovation and supports businesses that are pioneering the industries of tomorrow,” he said.
