“We’re excited to open here in Birmingham and proud to have created 25 new jobs, which will enhance the BHM experience, and help support the local community as well.” – Howard Kass, Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs, CLEAR
CLEAR has come to another airport in the South, enabling expedited passenger screening at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM). The expansion comes soon after the biometric passenger processing program went live at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in early June.
BHM is a notably busy airport in the region. It offers over 100 daily nonstop flights to more than 15 cities, and served over 2.9 million passengers last year.
“Today’s launch is an important step toward making travel stress disappear from The Magic City,” commented CLEAR Corporate Affairs EVP Howard Kass in a statement announcing the BHM launch. “We’re excited to open here in Birmingham and proud to have created 25 new jobs, which will enhance the BHM experience, and help support the local community as well.”
Beyond CLEAR’s growing presence in the South, its BHM launch also offers the latest indication of its growth trajectory more broadly, with CLEAR having come to Boston Logan International Airport, the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, and the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in recent months. Together with CLEAR’s ongoing expansion into non-airport venues like sports and entertainment stadiums, the organization says that its biometric screening program is now active at more than 60 locations across the country.
