Captis Intelligence has unveiled a new identification solution that was developed specifically for the Milestone XProtect Video Management System (VMS). The plug-in application has been dubbed Captis ODSI (On-Demand Subject Identification), and it will grant users access to the extensive Captis Database, which contains more than 30 million images of known criminals. The Database is the largest private database of criminals in North America.
Captis ODSI was designed to be a one-click solution that can be integrated into an existing surveillance setup. If the organization’s cameras pick up a security incident, the organization can take a still from the video and then click on the Captis Logo to run an ODSI facial recognition scan. The results will be displayed with corresponding match percentages.
“We are proud of the new subject identification capabilities that this unique breakthrough in video forensics brings to Milestone XProtect users,” said Captis President Dario Brebric. “Captis ODSI has already reduced incident rates by up to 70 percent in initial deployments.”
Captis ODSI is available to North American customers through the Milestone Marketplace. The company claims that ODSI has already been deployed at more than 22,000 locations across the continent. The Captis Database, meanwhile, only includes individuals with publically available criminal records.
The new plug-in arrives shortly after Innovatrics’ SmartFace hit the Milestone Marketplace. Milestone Systems previously partnered with RealNetworks to integrate the latter’s SAFR for Security system into the XProtect VMS platform.
