BioSec has upgraded its LifePass solution to a full-fledged biometric platform. The company had previously classified LifePass as an authentication middleware solution.
LifePass itself uses palm vein biometrics to verify the identity of a user. As a middleware solution, it was built to be compatible with a wide variety of security systems, and boasts a modular design that makes it easy to integrate with other biometric technologies.
LifePass will still offer that same utility as a biometric platform. It will also allow organizations to manage multiple systems from a single centralized location, which means that a user can register with LifePass once and then use their palm (and their account) to gain access to any other system connected to that network.
BioSec offers a contactless version of LifePass for organizations that are worried about shared surfaces during the pandemic. The technology can be used for both physical and digital access control applications.
BioSec added thermal screening capabilities to its GateKeeper palm vein solution in the early days of COVID-19. The company has since provided GateKeeper security for a construction site in Germany. LifePass and GateKeeper are part of a broader BioSec portfolio that also includes the Login V2 and StadiumGuard solutions.
