CyberLink has formed a strategic partnership with the IP surveillance specialist VIVOTEK. The alliance specifically concerns CyberLink’s FaceMe facial recognition engine, which will now be integrated into VIVOTEK’s various surveillance solutions. Both companies are based in Taiwan.
According to VIVOTEK, the partnership will allow the company to provide customers with more comprehensive and more responsive surveillance infrastructure. CyberLink’s facial recognition tech will be leveraged at both the hardware and the software level.
“Through this alliance, facial recognition intelligence will be integrated with VIVOTEK’s network cameras and back-end video management software, enabling security operators to receive accurate facial recognition alerts based on both blacklists and whitelists,” said VIVOTEK Chairman Owen Chen.
“The demand for facial recognition is booming, driven by the latest IoT and AIoT innovations, and enabling a wide array of scenarios across industries,” added CyberLink Founder and CEO Jau Huang. “Each application is dependent on the performance of the cameras used to capture faces. CyberLink is pleased to partner with VIVOTEK to provide accurate and reliable solutions to the market.”
The news builds on CyberLinks strong performance in recent months. The company recently showcased FaceMe at CES 2020, and was featured at the Taiwan External Trade Development Council’s press conference during the event. FaceMe has performed well on the NIST’s Face Recognition Vendor Test, a fact that VIVOTEK mentioned in the press release.
FaceMe was also integrated into iMedtac’s Automatic Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) earlier this month. The cabinet will use facial recognition to monitor the distribution of controlled substances in hospitals and other clinical environments as part of iMedtac’s broader iHospital medical services platform.
CyberLink and Vivotek’s new joint solution will make its public debut at the VIVOTEK booth at the Intersec 2020 event in Dubai. The company can be found at booth #SAD37.
