“Our nationwide network of retail locations and convenient hours are ideal for individuals that require access to citizen services. These services align nicely with our continued focus on expanding both business and consumer service offerings at our retail stores.”
Office Depot has partnered with Telos ID to offer identity verification and background check services to its largest clients. The new features are designed primarily for government organizations and large enterprises, although individuals and smaller businesses will be able to utilize the services if they so desire.
Identity verification will be carried out through secure kiosks that offer fingerprint and photo recognition. The business supply chain has already introduced the new kiosks at more than 200 Office Depot locations, and plans to expand to upwards of 500 locations by the end of the year.
“Our nationwide network of retail locations and convenient hours are ideal for individuals that require access to citizen services,” said Office Depot Chief Retail Officer Kevin Moffitt. “These services align nicely with our continued focus on expanding both business and consumer service offerings at our retail stores.”
Telos ID’s biometric identity management technology has previously been used in a variety of government and corporate settings. The company has performed background checks for workers at Los Angeles International Airport, and will be doing the same for US Census Bureau employees ahead of the 2020 census.
The partnership with Office Depot will give Telos ID a physical network, and make it much easier for people to utilize its FBI-certified identity management services.
