StoneLock has promoted one of its own to the role of General Manager. Yanik Brunet, who previously served as the company’s Vice President of Sales, will now lead the biometrics specialist’s expansion efforts.
Prior to working with StoneLock, Brunet attained the bulk of his experience with access control specialist Kantech, which he joined in 1996 and left in 2015 after serving as the company’s Director of Sales. He first joined the StoneLock team just over a year ago, in May of 2019.
In a statement announcing Brunet’s appointment to the role of General Manager, StoneLock lauded his skill in promoting new security technologies, saying that prior to joining StoneLock, he had “led the implementation of new go-to-market strategies for a leading access control product that generated over $40 million in revenue.”
“Yanik has been at the highest levels of enterprise security for many years and is regarded as one of the finest leaders and innovative trailblazers amidst his industry peers and colleagues,” added StoneLock CEO and co-founder Colleen Dunlap.
Brunet’s appointment comes as StoneLock prepares to unveil a new access control solution aimed at the enterprise sector, a product that Brunet appeared to refer to in commenting on his promotion.
“Our new product is defining the gold standard for the ease of use a client should expect, while setting new expectations on how a biometric solution can be used to both protect user privacy and strengthen building security without compromise,” he said. “I expect StoneLock to become the market leader because of it.”
Of course, StoneLock has already generated considerable excitement on the basis of its current facial recognition solution, an access control product designed to facilitate rapid throughput. The company brought in $2.82 million in funding last spring from angel investors.
