RealNetworks has announced that Mike Ensing will be stepping up as the company’s new Interim CFO. Ensing will be taking over from Cary Baker, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities after three years with the company.
“We wish Cary the best in his future endeavors,” said RealNetworks Chairman and CEO Rob Glaser.
“Mike is a very experienced and accomplished CFO with a demonstrated ability to lead financial and operational teams to great results. We remain confident in our main growth initiatives, SAFR and Free-To-Play Games, as well as our fourth quarter 2019 financial guidance.”
Ensing will be expected to guide RealNetworks through a transitional period as it searches for a full-time Chief Financial Officer. He will begin working as a strategic advisor on January 10, before assuming Interim CFO responsibilities on February 15.
Ensing will bring more than 25 years of experience with him when that occurs. He recently completed a five-year stint as the CFO for Savers/Value Village, where he served from 2014-2019. He also made previous stops at Knowledge Universe and Microsoft.
RealNetworks has turned to an outside search firm to hunt for a new executive. The company recently expanded the board of directors from six to eight members, and brought on a new Chief Revenue Officer to drive sales of its flagship SAFR facial recognition platform.
