Neurotechnology Algorithm Earns Top Spot in MINEX III Evaluation

Neurotechnology’s fingerprint algorithms have bested the competition in the NIST’s latest round of Minutiae Interoperability Exchange (MINEX III) testing. The company boasts of the most accurate (and second fastest) fingerprint solution, and topped the leaderboard in both of MINEX’s major interoperability categories. Specifically, Neurotechnology submitted the most interoperable fingerprint template generator, as well as the most interoperable template generator and matcher pair.

“I am proud of our research team for having created the most interoperable and accurate fingerprint recognition algorithm,” said Neurotechnology Head of Biometric Research Justas Kranauskas. “An independent confirmation like this means that our customers can have confidence in our continually evolving and improving technologies.”

Neurotechnology’s fingerprint algorithms are available as part of the company’s flagship MegaMatcher platform, a multimodal product suite that offers face, iris, and voice capabilities in addition to fingerprint recognition. The fingerprint algorithms can also be found in the company’s MegaMatcher ABIS and Accelerator products.

This is not the first time that Neurotechnology has scored well on a MINEX III evaluation. The company provided the most interoperable solution during a 2018 round of NIST testing, while its MegaMatcher On Card algorithm cleared MINEX III standards back in 2016.

Neurotechnology released the improved MegaMatcher 11 earlier this year, and later introduced palmprint recognition to the platform.
