“Using a smartphone, an end user simply takes a selfie as well as images of their official identity document, and then RightID will confirm that the face in the selfie matches the pictured ID.”
Another selfie-driven authentication solution has hit the market, this time aimed at property managers and employers.
Dubbed “RightID”, the new app has been developed by background screening specialist First Advantage. It’s essentially designed to let end users quickly and easily verify their identities through the use of AI-driven facial recognition and document reading. Using a smartphone, an end user simply takes a selfie as well as images of their official identity document, and then RightID will confirm that the face in the selfie matches the pictured ID.
It’s thus similar to a growing number of other selfie solutions, which have proven increasingly popular for customer onboarding in the financial services market in particular. But for its part, First Advantage has built its solution on top of its Profile Advantage candidate screening app, and is aiming the new solution primarily at employers, property managers, and other individuals in a position in which they need to vet the identities of others.
“By incorporating the most innovative technology, we’re able to deliver a multi-faceted solution that works for all of our customers, whether they’re looking at residents, employees, contractors, volunteers or vendors,” explained First Advantage Chief Product Officer Charlie Oyler in a statement announcing the solution. “RightID adds the extra layer of trust and safety organizations are looking for.”
First Advantage says its RightID solution will be officially released this August.
