BIO-key Sponsors California Community College IT Conference

BIO-key will have a major presence at the upcoming Chief Information Systems Officers Association (CISOA) Technology Summit. The CISOA is essentially the IT branch of the broader California Community College (CCC) system, and the annual Summit gives the IT professionals working in the state’s Community Colleges the chance to view the latest cybersecurity solutions that the industry has to offer.

BIO-key will be present as both a sponsor and exhibitor throughout the event, which is set to run from March 20-23 at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, California. The company will specifically be highlighting its PortalGuard Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) platform, a cloud-based solution that can make cybersecurity simpler for academic institutions.

Those who are interested in PortalGuard can view a demo at booth 405. However, several other attendees will be willing to attest to the quality of BIO-key’s portfolio. The company has been working with the CCC for more than 10 years, and already provides technology services for 55 colleges and school districts in the state.

Of course, BIO-key only acquired PortalGuard in 2020, so many of those schools are currently using other BIO-key products. The company is hoping to improve its conversion rate during the conference, and noted that three of its customers will be discussing their experiences with BIO-key during seminars being conducted as part of the summit agenda. College of the Canyons and Allan Hancock College will explain how they used PortalGuard to strengthen their cybersecurity, while the Ventura County Community College District will discuss its arrangement with BIO-key and Pathify, which has partnered with BIO-key to deliver more user-friendly student interfaces.

Barstow Community College, Mendocino College, Rio Hondo College, and the North Orange County Community College District are some of the other CCC schools that have embraced BIO-key’s PortalGuard solution. The company also sponsored a panel at the New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC) Legislative Conference earlier in the month.
